Mr. Shadle has over 42 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and an Associate Degree in Financial Management from Saint Joseph’s University.
David has earned the esteemed designations of Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate Underwriter (AU), and Associate Risk Manager (ARM) from the American Institute of Insurance.
For Embrace Partners, Inc., Mr. Shadle will call on his extensive construction risk management experience, including OCIP and CCIPs, as well as excess casualty. Dave will be responsible for managing and marketing large casualty placements, to include General Liability, Pollution Legal Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Trucking/Automobile, Professional Errors and Omissions, Builder’s Risk and follow form Excess Casualty. As a technical resource, David excels at marketing, placement preparation, claims advocacy and safety and loss prevention strategies. David is responsible for overseeing the casualty marketing strategy and developing strategic relationships and new business growth penetration with Regional and National distribution partners.
Mr. Shadle worked as a retail and wholesale broker for both regional and global brokerage houses, generating annual premiums of $6 million dollars. His background includes Underwriting, Claims and Loss Prevention, including placement and management of insurance-controlled insurance programs for national, upper middle market and international accounts including large construction contractors, real estate developers and manufacturing risks with difficult product liability exposures.
David has over 20 years of construction risk management experience, focused on Owner and Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs, including securing the Excess Casualty tower of insurance relative to the scope and complexity of the construction project, thereby developing cost-effective solutions for clients in a challenging construction market segment. He specializes in contractor practice programs and project risk program design, placement and servicing for local and national contractors and developers. David’s project risk specialization includes casualty, builders’ risk, pollution, professional, and surety with a particular expertise within the New York construction market.
David’s account management and marketing roles have provided him with a broad knowledge of both the domestic, excess, and surplus lines and foreign insurance market placements. He has broad commercial underwriting experience as well as claims management and loss prevention practical skills. In the area of Loss Prevention and Safety Health & Environment, he has provided risk management consulting services to large commercial accounts. He has a proven ability to develop and maintain strong account service relationships. He has been deeply involved in mentoring younger brokers. Mr. Shadle has specific expertise handling large New York City Construction Risks.
At AmWINS Brokerage, Mr. Shadle’s book consisted of large New York Construction Risks both on a Primary and Excess casualty basis. All these complex construction placements required New York Labor Law and 3rd-Party Action Over Coverage.
In David’s tenure with CNA National Accounts and Near North Insurance Brokerage David’s OCIP and CCIP placement experience resulted in the placement of over $2 Billion dollars in total project costs. David was also responsible for creating the OCIP/CCIP Administration Manuals to ensure compliance with contractor enrollment, developing project specific claims and loss prevention strategies to ultimately mitigate overall project loss experience.
